"After nine year’s gestation, Liverpool has a brand new purpose-built theatre of outstanding quality. The selection and use of materials has created an exceptionally tactile building. This is a building that will age gracefully, continually enriched by the patina of daily use. It will both reassure and delight its loyal audience and those discovering this gem for the first time." - RIBA Stirling Prize Citation
"‘Gilbert-Ash and Haworth Tompkins have built a new Everyman that maintains the original building’s unique spirit which can be felt tangibly in the new auditorium’." - Robert Longthorne, Building Development Director, Everyman and Playhouse
"'Absolutely amazing job achieved through an approach not much different from the high quality job we heard about from your Lyric and Causeway referees and are seeing ourselves in Liverpool. What precision." - Mike Cook, GVA Acuity
