The Waterfront Hall was the cornerstone project in a huge riverfront redevelopment scheme and one of the biggest regeneration projects in Europe at the time it was built.

Construction of the new venue included a main auditorium with 2,241 seats, a studio, 14 meeting rooms, gallery space, a gift shop, restaurant and two bars.
