project value - £40 Million
The project was delivered in 16 months on site by using a 2 stage management contract. The fast track process required concentrated effort to co-ordinate the integration of services throughout the five levels of research facilities. Heavy plant including boilers and chillers are located on the lower floors and all air handing is sited in an enclosed plant room on the top floor.
The 88,000sq ft project is a state of the art research facility for Almac Sciences which also includes Headquarters and administrative offices for the Almac Group. The restricted nature of the 2 acre site resulted in a 5 storey building form, which reduces the building footprint and leaves the maximum area for parking and servicing. The five storey structure accommodates modular R+D and analytical labs on the upper floors and a range of specialist laboratories on the ground floor.
