Celebrating Success

CEF Specify Construction Excellence Awards 2009

The winners of the CEF Specify Construction Excellence Awards 2009 were announced at a Gala Evening hosted by the BBC's Wendy Austin at the Culloden Hotel on Thursday 8th October 2009.

Once again Gilbert-Ash is celebrating success.

The £11 million Fitzwilliam Hotel in Belfast won the Commercial Construction Category.  This 5 Star Hotel is sited at a prominent location adjacent to the Grand Opera House at the junction of Great Victoria Street and Grosvenor Road, Belfast.  The project brief was to establish a new hotel at one of Belfast’s best known locations, to a 5 star standard and of a design internally and externally which would underline its prominence and style.

Gilbert-Ash also won the Brownfield Housing Award for Riverside Mill housing development in Antrim.  A short walk from Antrim and bordering the town’s historic conservation area this quiet and thoughtful development is set on the banks of the Sixmilewater River.  Designed with attention to detail and in keeping with the conservation area the village is inspired by a 19th century mill nearby and the buildings around it.

The Construction Excellence Awards celebrate the very best of the industry and highlight its recent achievements with various awards being presented to local building companies.

Our Award-winning projects clearly demonstrate the company's continuous commitment to quality.
